Purity in Love
In this series, we will look at how we can take our daily experiences of interacting with others, and transform them in a meaningful way, to practically strengthen power of our cherishing love.
Some unique and powerful methods we will look at include:
Looking within our own mind, becoming aware of our negative mental habits, and identifying with our pure spiritual potential.
Seeing how living beings have no faults, distinguishing between a person and their delusions (anger or attachment), and examining how the only appropriate response to anyone driven by their delusions is compassion.
Becoming familiar with identifying with the pure potential of those around us, and the feelings that their happiness is just as important as our own.
By becoming familiar with the above methods and reasonings, and putting them into practice in our daily life, gradually we will be able to maintain a mind of cherishing love towards everyone we meet.
“Just as we distinguish between a person and his or her delusions, so we should also remember that the delusions are only temporary characteristics of a person’s mind and not its real nature. Delusions are distorted conceptual thoughts that arise within the mind, like waves on the ocean – just as it is possible for waves to die down without the ocean disappearing.”
